Description: Planet4iT is now a supplier to the Federal Government of Canada, and we are building "a Book of Consultants" who are able to undertake contract opportunities, generally of shorter duration.
Work may be in any city in Canada
The typical duties of the Technology Analyst are:
• Prepare implementation plans for particular technologies;
• Install and monitor particular facets of technology;
• Configure and optimize technical installations;
• Troubleshoot and respond to user problems;
• Maintain up to date knowledge of particular technologies and products supporting that technology.
The typical duties of a LAN Administrator are:
• Work closely with users in order to operate, maintain and safeguard the LAN;
• Identify requirements for improvements to existing LANs by determining users' information requirements and system performance and functional requirements;
• Develop and implement LAN expansion services;
• Mediate and resolve conflicts among users' needs for LAN services;
• Develop and implement security procedures for the LAN, including access and user account management;
• Provide user advisory and information services, such as help desk;
• Maintain and control documentation for the LAN and LAN software;
• Maintain configuration control of the LAN equipment and software;
• Co-ordinate hardware maintenance, repair and upgrade the LAN;
• Develop and co-ordinate backup, disaster recovery and virus protection procedures;
• Install and test LAN operating, utility and applications software.
